Retreat topic: “Voidness for Dummies”
Click here for feedback on the retreat from Richard Maasdorp.
Voidness (Emptiness) is as important a topic for Buddhists as “God” is for the religions of the Book. Understanding its meaning—whether it be basic non-ego or the Middle Way—is vital in each Buddhist tradition. Although the topic is profound in its insight and vast in its detail, Ken will present it through a simple overview, in common-sense terms, with a view to giving something both useful for dharma practice and helpful in avoiding the misunderstandings that often occur and can sometimes waste years. This should be a useful primer for anyone interested in the key ideas of dharma.
Ken Holmes is currently Director of Studies at Kagyu Samye Ling and is a world renowned scholar on Tibetan Buddhism. His life is spent teaching in the Samye Dzong Buddhist Centers established by the late Akong Tulku Rinpoche, in various countries, writing and translating dharma works. We are delighted to have Ken back for another round of inspiring teachings.
