Retreat ‘The Lightness of Being and the Search for Security’ with Donal Creedon – Nov 25-Dec 3, 2016

Donal Creedon

Donal Creedon

DONAL CREEDON is a meditation Teacher with many years’ experience, loved and deeply appreciated for his warmth, openness and sincerity. Donal has spent 12 years in retreat and was also a fellow of the Krishnamurti Foundation of India for 3 years. This allows him to balance a clear and thorough understanding of Tibetan Buddhism with the non-sectarian and uncomplicated teaching given by Krishnamurti, helping Donal to communicate the heart of Buddhist teaching beyond language and culture.

The Kagyu Samye Ling Zimbabwe (KSLZ) Buddhist Centre is delighted to invite you to participate in a ten day retreat with Donal Creedon to be held at our beautiful retreat getaway in the mountains of Nyanga, approximately 3 hours drive from Harare. The retreat topic is ‘The Lightness of Being and the Search for Security’.

The purpose of the Buddha Dharma is to awaken intelligence and compassion; to discover within us the natural lightness of being and to live in the world centred in that light. Although it is nameless we can call that light Avalokiteshvara, or Tara, or Vajrayogini or a thousand other names. What obstructs the light is habit, fear, the weight of the past and particularly ignorance. That is, not knowing your own mind as the nameless, ‘as-it-is’. We will explore these issues and others through listening, contemplation and meditation in the light of Mahamudra teachings.

Donal’s Conditions for Participants

We request participants to try to attend the whole retreat from beginning to end. Partial or casual attendance is discouraged, as is coming and going during the retreat.
