Alan Muller Sat 22 July

Alan Muller, in his understated way, is one of the few South Africans that have been authorized to teach in our centres.  He spent 6 years as a monk, and has done several long retreats, including a cloistered year retreat in Scotland under the guidance of Lama Yeshe Rinpoche.

Please join Alan for all or one of the sessions on this Saturday.

10:30 am to 11:30 am Introduction to Meditation with discussion and practice
Practical advice on posture, overcoming obstacles, techniques, and with guided meditations. Ideal for beginners and intermediate.

Cost R50.00 plus Dana.

12:00 pm to 13:00 pm Meditation practice with Alan. When we come together and practice a great deal of merit is accumulated for yourself and your fellow meditators. It also infuses your centre and surrounding community with positivity. For our journey on the path we need the combination of study, contemplation and meditation. This session will concentrate on the third aspect, meditation, and will be a combination of calm abiding and loving kindness meditation. Let’s build our sangha by coming together and practicing. Open to all – no cost.  Join us for tea afterwards.

13:00 pm to 14:00 pm Lunch (if you are staying for the day, please bring along a vegetarian dish to share)

14:00 pm to 15:30 Compassion, Merit and the Gurus. Alan will talk about the interdependence of lineage, merit and compassion. Alan will also talk on the significance of the visit of Drupon Rinpoche and the importance of receiving pure lineage teachings.

Cost R50.00 plus Dana.

Should you wish to attend both sessions the cost will be R100.00 with concessions available.
