Mindfulness – A 7 week experiential course

Facilitated by Vera Hey

Mindfulness is the latest buzz word in wellness circles… But what is it?

“Mindfulness is a way to live life as if each moment counted and could be a valuable experience even if it is a moment of pain, sadness, despair or fear.” John Kabat-Zinn

Do you ever feel like you are living your life on an auto-pilot? Do you think too much, in other words, spend too much time in your head and feel somewhat disconnected from your body? Do you feel tension in your body and often feel fatigued? Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed by intense emotions and fear your own internal dynamics? Do you sometimes feel a sense of helplessness and powerlessness that a fast moving world imposes whilst everybody around seems to be in control? Then the Mindfulness course is for you.

This is an interactive experiential course which is slow paced to enable you to put into practice what you are learning.
As human beings we all experience feelings such as frustration, anxiety, fear, anger, aloneness, helplessness, depression and we often think that others and the world around us are responsible. Mindfulness practice enables you to have awareness of your inner world (thoughts, feelings, sensations, etc.) and therefor feel better connected with your inner self and feel more in control. Mindfulness practice teaches you to respond differently to you current patterns of thinking, feeling and experiencing. It enables you to notice others and the world around you, which leads to deepening of interpersonal relationships. Mindfulness enables you to have patience and kindness towards yourself and achieve self-acceptance.
In short, mindfulness enables you to live a better quality life.
