SUMMARY:Millions of Manis 2026
DESCRIPTION:Millions of Mani Mantras Project\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\nStarting on Saga Dawa Düchen – 31 May 2026 \nEnd date: 8 October 2026 \nWe invite you to join us in reciting and collecting Mani Mantras with the shared goal of reaching millions of mantras\, dedicated to our Lamas and to all sentient beings. This Samye Dzong project begins on Saga Dawa Düchen\, which commemorates the birth\, enlightenment and parinirvana of Buddha Shakyamuni\, Sunday\, 31 May. We will finish on the 8th of October 2026\, the anniversary of Akong Rinpoche’s parinirvana. \nWhether you’re on your meditation cushion or standing in a queue\, your Om Mani Padme Hum counts. Everyone who participates will share in the merit of all the millions of mantra recitations. \nNow in its fifth year\, this project is dedicated to: \n\nThe swift return of Akong Tulku Rinpoche\nThe health and long life of Lama Yeshe Losal Rinpoche\nThe benefit of all sentient beings\n\nWe will begin on the full moon of the fourth lunar month\, known as Saga Dawa\, the holiest month in Tibetan Buddhism. It commemorates the birth\, enlightenment\, and parinirvana of the Buddha. During this sacred time\, virtuous deeds—such as prayer\, generosity\, and refraining from harm—are especially encouraged and believed to be multiplied many times over. \nHow to Participate: \n\nRecord your mantra count and send it to: johannesburg@kagyu.org.za\nOr enter your total directly on this form.\nYou may also dedicate your recitations to individuals by adding their names to the prayer list\n\nLet us come together as a community in compassion and aspiration. Every mantra counts! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
