There will also be the opportunity to discuss and ask questions about the topics covered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This step-by-step course is a golden opportunity for anyone with a genuine interest in practicing the Buddhadharma. It is suitable for everyone whether they are completely new to Buddhism or have years of experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Everyone is welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For those who can afford it, there will be a charge of R100 per session. An early bird, upfront fee of R550 is available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Members 20% discount<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students and Pensioners 50% discount<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This will greatly benefit the centre as the pandemic has been a financially challenging time! However nobody will be turned away if they can\u2019t pay, so please come anyway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Please wear masks and sanitise when in the Shrine Room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"135\" height=\"132\" src=\"https:\/\/kagyu.org.za\/johannesburg\/files\/2022\/04\/S1-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5371\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Samten&nbsp;Drim\u00e9<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Samten&nbsp;Drim\u00e9, born and brought up in Zimbabwe, is a fully ordained monk in the Karma Kagyu tradition.&nbsp; He has completed 12 years in retreat \u2013 six years in Samye Dechen Shing Men\u2019s Retreat on the Isle of Arran in Scotland followed by another six years in Sekhar Retreat in Nepal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In both retreats, he was under the direction of Drupon Khen Rinpoche, from whom he has received a wide range of teachings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Samten\u2019s role is as a Dharma Helper rather than a Dharma teacher as such.&nbsp; With easily understandable, clear, and down-to-earth teachings he will help old and new practitioners alike to deepen their understanding of basic practice and meditation.
