You are welcome to attend either one, or both of the talks, as each session offers valuable insights and teachings.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>What it means to be Buddhist (Part 2)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Date: Saturday 29 March<br \/>\nTime: 10:30 &#8211; 11:30<\/p>\n<p>The Three Trainings: Morality, Meditation and Wisdom<\/p>\n<p>A brief exploration of some practical instructions given by Lord Buddha and passed down to us through generations of accomplished practitioners \u2013 especially how we can make some of these simple but profound methods a force for good in our own lives.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Cost<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>There is no charge for these talks, but donations are welcome. Dharma centres, which offer teachings and meditation practices that benefit all beings, are largely sustained through the generosity of their supporters. Donations play a crucial role in ensuring the continuation of these teachings, providing resources for the upkeep of the centre, supporting teachers, and enabling the running of retreats, courses, and community activities.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Teacher<\/strong><\/h2>\n<blockquote><p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-5743 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/kagyu.org.za\/johannesburg\/files\/2025\/03\/DSCN9914-1-scaled-e1741806214476-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><strong>Gelongma (Ani) Lhamo<\/strong> is a fully ordained Buddhist nun from Scotland who completed a four-year cloistered retreat in 1993 and has lived at Samye Ling Monastery ever since. An experienced teacher of meditation and Dharma, she has also served as Secretary and assistant to Abbot Lama Yeshe Losal Rinpoche at Samye Ling Monastery for many years.
