{"id":6342,"date":"2026-03-02T21:44:09","date_gmt":"2026-03-02T19:44:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kagyu.org.za\/johannesburg\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=6342"},"modified":"2026-03-02T22:47:00","modified_gmt":"2026-03-02T20:47:00","slug":"meditation-morning","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/kagyu.org.za\/johannesburg\/event\/meditation-morning\/","title":{"rendered":"Meditation Morning"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Loving Kindness Meditation with Alan Muller<\/p>\n<p>Loving-kindness meditation is a mindfulness practice designed to cultivate compassion, self-love, and universal friendliness by directing well-wishes toward oneself and others.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">Join us for an hour-long guided meditation.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">10:00 &#8211; 11:00 AM<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">The hour-long session will consist of:<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">20 minutes &#8211; guided calm abiding meditation<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">20 minutes &#8211; guided walking meditation<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">20 minutes &#8211; guided loving kindness meditation<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">There is no charge for this session, but dana for the teacher and the centre is welcome.<\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<h2 dir=\"auto\"><strong>Facilitator<\/strong><\/h2>\n<blockquote>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-4981\" src=\"https:\/\/kagyu.org.za\/johannesburg\/files\/2012\/03\/DSC_3836-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Alan\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>Alan Muller took refuge in 1997 with Akong Rinpoche. In 2003, he completed a one-year closed retreat under the guidance of Lama Yeshe Rinpoche at Samye Ling Monastery in Scotland. During this period, he took novice monk vows.
