In the process, we become liberated from age- old patterns of selfishness.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">The hour-long session will consist of:<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">20 minutes &#8211; guided calm abiding meditation<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">20 minutes &#8211; guided walking meditation<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">20 minutes &#8211; guided Tonglen meditation<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">There is no charge for this session, but dana for the teacher and the centre is welcome.<\/p>\n<h1 dir=\"auto\"><\/h1>\n<blockquote>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-4981\" src=\"https:\/\/kagyu.org.za\/johannesburg\/files\/2012\/03\/DSC_3836-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Alan\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>Alan Muller took refuge in 1997 with Akong Rinpoche. In 2003, he completed a one-year closed retreat under the guidance of Lama Yeshe Rinpoche at Samye Ling Monastery in Scotland. During this period, he took novice monk vows.
