{"id":6373,"date":"2026-03-27T21:59:13","date_gmt":"2026-03-27T19:59:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kagyu.org.za\/johannesburg\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=6373"},"modified":"2026-03-27T21:59:13","modified_gmt":"2026-03-27T19:59:13","slug":"meditation-morning-3","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/kagyu.org.za\/johannesburg\/event\/meditation-morning-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Meditation Morning"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Refuge and loving kindness meditation with Alan Muller<\/p>\n<p>Loving-kindness meditation is a mindfulness practice designed to cultivate compassion, self-love, and universal friendliness by directing well-wishes toward oneself and others.<\/p>\n<p>Join us for an hour of guided meditations.<\/p>\n<p>10:00 &#8211; 11:00<\/p>\n<p>The hour session will consist of:<\/p>\n<p>20 minutes &#8211; guided refuge meditation on the qualities of the Buddha<\/p>\n<p>20 minutes &#8211; guided walking meditation<\/p>\n<p>20 minutes &#8211; guided loving kindness meditation<\/p>\n<p dir=\"auto\">There is no charge for this session, but dana for the teacher and the centre welcome.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-4981\" src=\"https:\/\/kagyu.org.za\/johannesburg\/files\/2012\/03\/DSC_3836-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Alan\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>Alan Muller took refuge in 1997 with Akong Rinpoche. In 2003, he completed a one-year closed retreat under the guidance of Lama Yeshe Rinpoche at Samye Ling Monastery in Scotland. During this period, he took novice monk vows.
