Motivation: The Foundation of Buddhist Practice with Lama Zangpo
November 28 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Free

In Buddhism, motivation is the foundation that gives our actions direction and determines their deeper significance. The same action can have very different consequences depending on the intention behind it. Join us for a day of teaching, meditation and discussion as we explore how our intentions influence our thoughts, words and actions, and why examining and developing the right motivation is essential to Buddhist practice and the path to awakening.
“If with pure intent you speak or act, happiness follows you like a shadow that never leaves.” – Dhammapada, verse 2, translated by Bhikkhu Sujato.
10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Please bring a plate of vegetarian lunch to share.
Lama Zangpo began his meditation journey in 1996 after meeting Lama Yeshe Rinpoche at KSDJ, where he was a resident volunteer. He undertook long retreats on Arran and trained intensively with Drupon Rinpoche in Nepal. He has supported Buddhist communities in South Africa, the Congo, and now Glasgow, where he is known for his compassionate and practical understanding of Buddhist teachings.
